In light of the urgent need for more relevant and actionable research on wildfires and fire weather, the Natural Hazards Center (NHC)—with support from the National Science Foundation and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Program Office in partnership with the National Weather Service (NWS)—is issuing a special call for proposals for Wildfire Ready Quick Response Research and Data Publication in the social, behavioral, and economic sciences.

This award program funds the collection of perishable data before, during, and after wildfires, as well as the publication of wildfire datasets and instruments. The program, which is supported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and National Science Foundation, will offer awards ranging from $1,000 to $7,500.

Application Deadline: Proposals are evaluated contemporaneously as they are submitted and will be accepted through June 1, 2024.
