I've been working on climate-related problems in the Arctic. I study mechanisms driving decadal variability in the Arctic Ocean - Greenland Sea and how they respond to the global climate change. I'm mostly interested in ocean processes: basin-scale circulation, formation and maintenance of Arctic thermocline layer, Atlantic water and its role in the Arctic climate, water mass formation. I've been looking at long-term variability of mesoscale circulation in the Gulf of Mexico (but not necessarily related to climate change)I have briefly worked on resilience of coastal regions in the Gulf of Mexico in response to projected sea level change and storm surge flooding.
