I am a Social Psychologist who takes a quantitative, empirical approach to examining people`s behavior (behavior change) and motivation.  Relevant to the Climate Institute, some of my recent work examines people`s motivations to engage in pro-environmental behaviors and their likelihood to engage in meaningful pro-environmental behaviors.  We look at both the role of people`s personal dedication to protecting the environment and decreasing climate change as well as the implications of social/external pressure to engage in pro-environmental behavior.  We are interested in the implications of persuasive communications to influence people`s behaviors.  In addition, we are interested in whether, when, and why people chose to engage in behaviors that give the impression that they are "green" as opposed to behaviors that have meaningful implications for the environment.
