The Florida Climate Institute and the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Florida is excited to host a special screening of Chasing Coral! Join us on Thursday, September 21st at First Magnitude Brewery and witness a journey to reveal how the greatest impact on earth’s changing climate may be hidden beneath in our ocean. Chasing Coral takes viewers on a thrilling ocean adventure as a team of divers, photographers, and scientists set out to discover why reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate and provides a look at this underwater world so few of us have the opportunity to see up close.

Following the film screening, there will be a post-film discussion with a panel of University of Florida scientists that work with and study coral. The panel will consist of Dr. Andrea Dutton from the Department of Geological Sciences, Dr. Donald Behringer from the Fisheries and Aquatic Science Department, Dr. Tom Frazer from the Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Department, and Dr. Julie Meyer from the Soil and Water Sciences Department. We will also have Dr. Jonathan Dain from the Center for Latin American Studies moderating the post-film discussion.
