If you know the record identifier (i.e. the database serial number) for a specific record, you can enter it here, then press the Show Record button to jump directly to that record. While the is equal to option requires exact matches, the contains option allows for partial matches. You can use the is within list option to enter multiple record IDs (delimited by whitespace).
Examples:
Jump to record number 12 and display its record details in Details view:

List records with serial numbers 1, 6 and 12:
