I wrote an article on the urban heat islands of Florida cities that appeared in Florida Trends. I also addressed global warming in the second edition of my Florida Weather, a book published by the University Presses of Florida. I am currently slowly working on a project where I have downloaded daily maximum highs for 404 US weather stations between 1950 and 2009, calculated the average maximum temperature for the six decades and calculated how the average daily maximum of the six decades fits within an ordinal increase by decade. I am retired so I am in no rush to complete the project, but I have done all the calculations and have tables and maps.
